Old Hands Give Support to Nuclear Industry

The first General Meeting of the newly established Union of Nuclear Industry Old Hands was convened on February, 13th, at the Bulgarian Nuclear Power Plant. The charitable association has already been incorporated as it was reported at the meeting. It was chaired by Mitko Yankov, Chairman of the Association, who was Safety and Quality Directorate Director for many years, and who, even after his retirement, is proactive in developing Bulgarian nuclear industry.  

The Articles of Association was thoroughly discussed at the Meeting, and the main tasks – outlined: to support nuclear industry development by utilizing the knowledge and experience of all veteran members, promoting the nuclear power plant work in society, and its benefits for the entire domestic economy.

The founders are 12 altogether, and Kozloduy NPP plc is the only corporate body for the time being. The following are among the founders – Kiril Nikolov, Zakhary Boyadjiev, Iordan Kostadinov, Ivan Ivanov, Ivan Grizanov, Atanas Koichev, Hristina Kremenlieva, Krum Karastanev, Veselin Kremenliev, Ventsislav Milyovski, and Valentin Ribarski – old hands of long experience at the NPP and champions of nuclear energy industry development in the country.
Ivan Genov, the company Chief Executive Officer, Aleksandar Nikolov, Deputy CEO, and NPP representative in the Association, and Iliyana Karamfilova, Legal Division Head, attended the Meeting. The Old Hands unanimously agreed to admit to membership not only power engineers, but representatives of the scientific community as well.
